Your diamond jewellery won´t lose any of its beauty if you look after it. A diamond can be scratched by another diamond. It is important to keep diamond jewellery in separated boxes. Don´t wear diamond jewellery if you work hard. The coronal that holds a diamond could loosen and one could very easily lose it as a result. As a preventive measure when wearing jewellery very often, visit a specialist every 6 months to check the jewellery and refit it if necessary. To keep the brightness of a diamond it must be cleaned regularly. Best is to leave it to a specialist to clean every 6 months even though there are methods of doing so at home.
...Mild liquid soap...
Soak the jewellery in a tepid solution of mild liquid soap. Use a soft toothbrush to clean it very carefully. Then rinse the jewellery thoroughly in tepid water and dry very carefully with a fine cloth. Make sure that no piece of jewellery remains in the container before pouring it out.
... Household ammonia...
Place the jewellery for half an hour into a dilution of 1:100 of ammonia (25% ammonia and tepid water). Remove the jewellery and brush from both sides with a soft brush. Put it back into the dilution and then rinse the jewellery thoroughly in tepid water and finally dry with a paper cloth.
... Irreplaceable alcohol...
Alcohol can also be used for cleaning jewellery but must be free of any colouring or other additives. This is a save method of cleaning diamonds. We recommend pure ethanol which is normally available in every pharmacy. Simply lay the stones into a glass with alcohol for about 1hour and clean using a toothbrush. Then dry it in fine cloth.
