How jewelry is made
Diamonds International Corporation – D.I.C. is a producer of original diamond jewelry. The production of fancy jewelry including the development of new models take place in its own workshops where experienced goldsmiths work.
Production:
Graphic design
Every piece of jewelry begins with an idea in reaction to the demands of the market. Therefore the first idea results in the first sketch – hand drawn by a designer.
Production of a design:
This phase relies on the usage of technology converting the sketch into a 3D program which shows all the details and enables creating a picture (render) of the jewelry.
Wax model
Producing a wax master model can be done manually or created using technology (CNC milling machine, max printer, photopolymers).
Production of rubber molds
Production of molds for direct casting into lost wax.
Model for direct casting
Production of a tree has its own laws.
Embedding
Embedding and burning a wax tree is time consuming and requires scrupulous procedures.
Casting
Two basic technologies are used:
1)vacuum
2)centrifugal
Cleansing and cutting away castings
Mounting
A few types of mounting can be distinguished (by bracket, pave, or smooth).
Polishing
When polishing it is very important to use the most modern instruments to decrease loss during processing.
Surface
To process the surface of white gold, electroplating rhodium technology (platinum metal) is used. A big number of steps are related to this technology which ensures precise cleaning of the product.
Branding a ring
First the ring goes to an Assay office where it is marked by a hallmark in accordance to legislation.
Output control
Each of our products undergoes careful quality control. After that it receives a number of certificate and the D.I.C. branding. Due to transparency of the whole trade, its number is also engraved into the jewel.
